Chardonel is one of the more widely-known hybrids of chardonnay, as it produces arguably equal quality wine, yet with a hardier resistance to cold weather, as a grape. The wines are notoriously well-balanced, and appeal to both chardonnay and riesling drinkers. Hints of banana, anyone?
